LeBeouf Bros., Bourg, La., christened the 120'x34'x11' pushboat Capt. Mark Delesdernier in a ceremony that took place on the New Orleans riverfront on Saturday, June 14. LeBeouf accepted delivery of the vessel from Steiner Construction, Bayou La Batre, Ala., on May 30, 2025.
Crescent Towing and Blakeley BoatWorks, Mobile, Ala., are continuing their partnership with plans to begin construction of hull 115, a new 6,000-hp, Tier 4, Z-drive tugboat, to be added to Crescent Towing’s Mississippi River ship assist operations, based in New Orleans, upon completion.
The 49-foot solar-powered vessel Firefly, now under construction at Lyman-Morse Boatbuilding in Maine, is designed to carry students on STEM-focused educational trips along the Delaware River for the nonprofit Upstream Alliance. Powered by high-efficiency solar panels, electric motors, and lithium-ion batteries, Firefly will promote clean energy, environmental awareness, and hands-on science learning for middle and high school students.
